A Palestinian is a person from Palestine, or a person whose family comes from there. It is the ordinary, neutral word — the one you will hear in the news, in school, and in daily talk. It is not slang, and it is not a rude word.

A Palestinian一個Palestinian是 a person from Palestine一個來自Palestine（巴勒斯坦）的人, or或是 a person whose family comes from there家族來自那裡的人. It它是 the ordinary, neutral word普通、中性的字——the one you will hear in the news, in school, and in daily talk新聞、學校、日常對話裡都會聽到. It它 is not不是 slang俚語, and而且 it它 is not也不是 a rude word粗魯的字.

Though actually, the same spelling is also an adjective: Palestinian food, a Palestinian city, a Palestinian passport. The noun and the adjective look exactly the same, which English does with quite a few people-words.

Though actually不過事實上, the same spelling同樣的拼法 is also是 an adjective形容詞: Palestinian foodPalestinian food（巴勒斯坦食物）、a Palestinian citya Palestinian city（一座巴勒斯坦城市）、a Palestinian passporta Palestinian passport（一本巴勒斯坦護照）. The noun and the adjective名詞和形容詞 look exactly the same長得一模一樣, which英語 English does with quite a few people-words碰到很多「人的字」都是這樣.

Most Palestinians are Muslim, but some are Christian, and some are neither. Many live in the West Bank and Gaza; many live in Israel; many live in Jordan, Lebanon, and other countries, because families were moved or fled in earlier wars and never went home.

When people say “the Palestinians,” they usually mean the people as a group, not one person. The place-name Palestine itself is used in more than one way — some mean a country, some mean a historic land — but Palestinian still points to the people.

When people say當人們說 "the Palestinians""the Palestinians"（那些Palestinian人）, they usually mean他們通常是指 the people as a group整體的這群人, not不是 one person某一個人. The place-name PalestinePalestine這個地名 itself本身 is used in more than one way不只一種用法——some mean a country有的指一個國家, some mean a historic land有的指一片歷史上的土地——but但 Palestinian still points to the peoplePalestinian指的還是這群人.
