    Odiously is the adverb from odious. It tells you that something is done in an extremely unpleasant way, or that a quality is unpleasant to a hateful degree. “He grinned odiously” means the grin itself made you want to step back. People do sometimes say “odiously hot”, but many would still prefer a simpler word like horribly. Like odious, it is a book word. It judges. It does not mean “oddly”, and it is not about being strange.
