Oaken means made of oak, or having the look and feel of oak: an oaken door, an oaken chest, oaken beams in an old hall. You will meet it in older books, hymns, and fantasy more than in a furniture shop. In ordinary English people just say oak: an oak table, oak floors. Oaken is the extra-old-fashioned cousin, built like wooden or golden — the material plus -en. It can also hint at the feel of oak: strong, heavy, dark, not only “this was cut from an oak tree”. Though actually almost nobody needs oaken in daily talk; if you say oaken about a new kitchen, it will sound like a storybook on purpose.
