If you feel nostalgic about a time in the past, remembering it makes you happy, and in some ways you wish things had not changed. You are usually nostalgic about something: a place, a year, a song, a person as they were then.
If you feel nostalgic如果你感到 nostalgic（懷舊） about a time in the past對過去的某段時光, remembering it makes you happy回想起它會讓你開心, and in some ways而且在某些方面 you wish things had not changed你希望事情當初沒有改變。You你 are usually nostalgic通常會感到 nostalgic about something對某個東西: a place一個地方, a year某一年, a song一首歌, a person as they were then或是某個人當年的樣子。
People also call things nostalgic — a film, a photo, a smell — when those things wake the feeling up, even though a song cannot itself 'feel'. That second use is very common.

The word is ordinary English, a little softer and more thoughtful than just 'I miss it'. It is not the same as : is wanting to go back to a place you belong; nostalgic is wanting a time, or the feeling of a time, that cannot come back in the same way.

組成nostalgia + -ic (turns the noun into an adjective). The same Greek pieces sit inside: nostos, 'returning home', and algos, 'pain'.
