    The person telling a story out loud without being one of the characters you see acting it out. In a movie or documentary, it's the voice explaining what's happening on screen. In a book, it's the 'voice' the whole story is told through — sometimes that voice is a character in the story (using 'I'), and sometimes it's an outside voice that just knows what everyone is doing.
