Multiracial means including or involving several different of people. A city, a school, a team, or a neighbourhood can be called multiracial when people of more than one race live or work there. A person can also be called multiracial when their family background crosses more than one racial group. It is careful, public English — news, school, official writing. Though actually, “race” is a human label, not a neat science box, and people do not all agree where one race stops and another starts, so the word describes how a group is seen and talked about. It is not the same as , which is more about languages, food, and ways of life, even though the two often travel together. It is also not the same as multinational, which is about countries, not race.
