A monarchist is someone who believes their country should be ruled by a king or queen.
A monarchist君主主義者 is someone who believes是相信...的人 their country should be ruled by a king or queen自己國家應該由國王或女王統治。
The word does not tell you how much power they want that person to have. Some monarchists want the monarch to hold real power; many others are happy with a constitutional monarch who is a symbol while a parliament makes the laws.
The word這個詞 does not tell you並不會告訴你 how much power they want that person to have他們希望那位君主擁有多少權力。Some monarchists有些君主主義者 want the monarch to hold real power希望君主握有實權; many others但也有很多人 are happy with a constitutional monarch滿意於君主立憲制下的君主 who is a symbol只是個象徵 while a parliament makes the laws法律則由國會制定。
It is a word, a little formal. The opposite idea, in the older sense, is a republican: someone who wants a country with no king or queen at all (that is not the same as the US Republican Party). In history books you may also see used in a close way, especially for people who fought for a king.
It is這是 a politics word一個政治用詞, a little formal有點正式。The opposite idea相反的概念, in the older sense在較早的意義上, is a republican是 republican(共和主義者): someone who wants a country with no king or queen at all指希望國家完全沒有國王或女王的人 (that is not the same as the US Republican Party)(這跟美國的共和黨不是同一回事)。In history books在歷史書裡 you may also see royalist你也可能看到 royalist(保皇黨) used in a close way用法相近, especially for people who fought for a king尤其是指那些為了國王而戰的人。
