Minneapolis is a large city in the east of Minnesota, in the north of the United States. It sits on one side of the Mississippi River; Saint Paul sits on the other. Together they are called the Twin Cities. Minneapolis grew as a mill town and a river port, and it is still an important centre for industry and business. Though actually, visitors often treat the two cities as one place, even though each has its own city hall. Minneapolis is usually seen as the bigger, more commercial twin.
