    Legibility is how easy it is to tell the letters apart and actually read the words. Big, clear type on a street sign has good legibility; a , or handwriting that bunches into one grey line, has poor legibility. Size, , contrast, and the shape of the letters all change it. Though actually, this is about the look of the writing, not about whether the sentences are easy to follow. A hard science paper can have excellent legibility if the print is sharp. The nearby word readability is closer to “is this writing easy as language?” People use the two loosely, but they point at different problems.
