Last-minute describes something that happens or is done as late as possible before something else happens: a last-minute change, a last-minute ticket, a last-minute decision. The feeling is rush, not careful planning — though actually some people live this way on purpose and still get there. It is everyday English, neither grand nor slang. Before a noun, write it with a . When you mean the moment itself, people say at the last minute, with no : she arrived at the last minute. Same idea, two shapes. It does not mean “the last sixty seconds only”; a last-minute gift might be bought the same afternoon. Compared with last-ditch, this one is about timing (very late), not about a final desperate fight.
last-minute 形容某件事發生或完成得盡量晚，就在另一件事發生之前，例如臨時的變動「a last-minute change」、臨時的決定「a last-minute decision」。它帶有匆忙的感覺，而不是仔細規劃的結果，不過有些人刻意這樣生活，也還是能趕上。它是日常英語，不華麗，也不是俚語。
