Knightsbridge is an area in west-central London, known for very expensive, fashionable shops — Harrods and Harvey Nichols are there — and for homes that cost a huge amount of money. People use the name as a shortcut for rich London shopping or a posh address. There is an Underground station with the same name. Though actually, visitors sometimes expect a special old bridge they can stand on and look at; the name comes from a bridge that was there centuries ago, and the first half first meant 'young man', only later read as 'knight'. You go to Knightsbridge to shop or to see wealth on display, not to study knights.
