To internationalize something is to make it international, or to bring it under international control. You internationalize a company, a product, a school programme, or — in darker news — a conflict, when more than one country is pulled in. It is the verb that sits under the long noun internationalization. Same two worlds: and organisations on one side; business and software on the other (preparing a thing so many countries can use it). It is a formal verb. Friends almost never say it. They say “make it international”, “open it to other countries”, or “get other countries involved”. You will still meet internationalize in newspapers and in tech writing. Though actually, when news says a war has been internationalized, that is not praise by itself — it only means more nations are now inside the problem.
