When a problem is insolvable, you cannot find an answer, or it feels as if nobody ever will. People use it for hard puzzles and maths, and also for life messes: a fight that will not end, a mystery with no way through. Though actually, in ordinary talk most people say unsolvable, not insolvable. Insoluble is another close word. For a problem it can mean the same thing, but it also means a thing that will not mix into a liquid, like oil in water. Insolvable is a real word, just a quieter, more one. It is about problems, not about drinks or money.
