Immunise is the British spelling of immunize. It means to protect someone from a particular illness by giving them a vaccine, so their body can fight that illness later. The meaning is exactly the same as immunize; only -ise versus -ize changes. In Taiwan you will meet both spellings. Doctors and public-health writing use this word; everyday talk more often says “get a vaccine” or “get a shot.”
