- 1
Humblebragging is the doing of a humblebrag: talking about your success as if you are being modest, or even a little unhappy about it. Same feel. This -ing form names the action itself, the way 'lying' names the act of a lie. You hear it about social media especially — a photo of a prize with a sad face, a complaint about 'too many job offers'. Informal. Though actually, the line can be thin: sharing good news is allowed; humblebragging is when the humble wrapper is there so you can show off without looking as if you meant to.
謙虛式炫耀(指這個動作;中國網路常說「凡爾賽」)
組成humblebrag + -ing (the action of doing it).
