A humblebrag is when someone tells you about something good in their life — a prize, a nice trip, how busy and wanted they are — but they wrap it in a small complaint or a shy remark, so it does not sound like showing off. 'Ugh, I'm so tired from all these interviews' is the classic shape: the tiredness is the humble bit; the interviews are the brag. People use the word to show they do not like this trick. It can name the act (that post was a humblebrag) or the doing (he humblebragged about his new job). Informal, and a little sharp. A US writer and comedian, Harris Wittels, made the word on Twitter in 2010; it spread fast because everyone recognised the move. Though actually, real modesty is not a humblebrag — the word is for when the modest coat is covering a boast.

    謙虛式炫耀、假謙虛(把炫耀包成客氣或抱怨;中國網路常說「凡爾賽」)
