1. 1

If you are houseproud, you spend a lot of time keeping your home clean and tidy, and you care how it looks when people visit. Proud here does not mainly mean “I am a great person.” It means you take pride in the house. The word can be a compliment (you look after your home well) or a gentle poke (you care a bit too much about the cushions). It is more British than American; American speakers might just say you keep a very tidy house. Though actually, it is about the home’s look and order, not about loving your family.

    很在意家裡整潔、愛把家打理得很乾淨(可褒可貶:稱讚會持家,或暗示有點潔癖)
