    Honeysuckle is a climbing plant with sweet-smelling yellow, cream, or pink tube flowers. People grow it on fences and walls. Bees — and in some places hummingbirds — push into the tubes. If you pinch the base of a fresh flower, you can sometimes suck a drop of sweet juice; that is the picture behind the name, not a candy. The scent is strong at . Some kinds, especially Japanese honeysuckle, spread wildly and argue over them. In Chinese you already know this plant as 金銀花, the dried flowers in cooling teas — that is the hook, not a new idea. It is an ordinary nature-and-garden word, a little pretty, not scientific until someone adds the Latin.
