    Used on its own to talk about the thing or things that belong to, or are connected with, a woman, girl, or female animal you have already talked about.

    「hers」用來代替「her + 名詞」，指前面已經提過的那位女生、女士或母動物擁有的東西。它本身就是一個完整的名詞，後面不再接名詞：說 These are hers，要說某本書則用 her book。可以想成 hers 把「她的」和「那樣東西」打包成一個字，所以句子裡放它一個就夠了，不用再重複前面講過的名詞。

The word you use when you want to say 'the one that belongs to her' without naming the thing again. It stands alone: 'This bag is hers' — you do not add a noun after it, because the noun is already understood.

可以想成 hers 是「她的那個」整包講完的說法：東西是誰的、東西本身，兩件事都已經包在這一個字裡。所以你說 This bag is hers，後面不再接名詞——不像 her book 那樣需要靠著名詞站著，hers 自己就能單獨站住。
