    Heroics are brave actions or brave-sounding words. The important part is how it feels in the mouth: people often say this when they think someone is trying to look impressive — doing too much, taking a silly risk, or making a speech about their own courage. “Spare me the heroics” means “stop the show”. It can still name real brave acts, especially in news, but many everyday sentences have that little smile or . It is a plural noun: we say heroics, not “a heroics”. The adjective for “like a hero” is heroic; this word is the name of the acts.
