Guiltless means you are not responsible for the crime or the wrong. You did not do it; the fault is not yours. It is a rather formal, slightly old word. In court and in everyday life, people more often say not guilty or innocent. You may still meet guiltless in careful writing: guiltless of the charge, a guiltless man. Though actually, it is about responsibility, not about whether you feel bad. A person can be guiltless — they did nothing wrong — and still feel guilty; a person can be guilty and feel nothing. Do not mix it with guileless, which is about being open and without tricks, not about blame.
