When someone or something is godlike, they have a quality we give to God, or to a god: great power, great beauty, or a greatness that feels more than human. People use it for a face, a voice, a skill, even a calm that seems too big for an ordinary person. Though actually, in everyday talk it is often praise with a little stretch — a fan, a , or a making someone sound almost not of this world. It is not a church word in the way godly is. Godly is about living a good life before God. Godlike is about like a god. You will meet it more in stories and strong praise than at the dinner table, and it can feel a little high.
組成god + -like. God is God; -like means “like this.” Together: like God, or like a god.
