Godlessness is the noun for the state of being godless: not honouring God, not believing in a god, or living as if God is not there. You will mostly hear it from the pulpit or in old-fashioned writing — a preacher warning a town against godlessness, a writer sighing that the age has fallen into godlessness. Daily talk almost never uses it. Friends do not say “your godlessness” over coffee. When people do use it, they often mean more than “some people are atheists.” They mean a whole mood: no prayer, no church, and, in the speaker’s mind, no moral centre. So the word can describe a belief (“there is no God”), or it can a way of life. That second use is the one that stings. It is a heavy, abstract church word, built from the adjective godless plus -ness, “the state of.”
不信神;不敬神(多半是講道、寫文章才用的抽象詞)
