Someone who is forbearing stays calm and kind when another person is slow, rude, or in the wrong. They could get angry or punish, but they hold back and forgive. It is rather formal. You meet it more in books and careful speech than in chat. Calling a parent or teacher forbearing is praise: it says they have long patience. Though actually, it is not the same as being weak. A forbearing person still has a line; they just do not jump to it. The word describes a habit of the heart, not one moment of keeping quiet.
寬容的;能忍耐、願意原諒的
組成forbear (to hold back, especially from punishing) + -ing (here it makes an adjective). From Middle English forbering / forberen.
