A filtrate is the liquid you have after you send a mixture through a filter. The solid bits stay behind on the paper or in the cloth; what ran through is the filtrate. It is a lab word. At home you would just name the liquid — the water, the juice — after you strained it. Chemists write things like “the filtrate was clear.” There is also a verb, to filtrate, meaning to filter, but though actually almost nobody says it in ordinary English. People say filter for the action and keep filtrate for the liquid that came through. Do not mix it up with the stuff left on the paper; that leftover has other names. The filtrate is what passed.

組成From New Latin filtrātus (“filtered”), the past form of filtrō (“to filter”). In English it matches filter + -ate (a noun-forming ending: the thing you get). The rarer verb is the same Latin verb + -ate as a verb ending.
