In notes and books, ff after a page number means 'and the pages that follow'. If a writer says see p. 12ff, they mean: start at page 12 and keep going through the next pages as well — not page 12 alone, and not a closed range like 12–15. A single f (p. 12f) often means page 12 and the next page; ff means more than one page after. You see this in footnotes, reading lists, and older academic English. It is not spoken as a word; people read it as 'and following'. It feels a little old-fashioned now — many writers prefer pp. 12–18 or page 12 and after — but students who read serious books still meet it. Same letters, other jobs: musicians write ff for very loud, and ff can just be two f's typed together. This entry is the page one.
