Feudalistic does not usually mean 'this is actually the Middle Ages'. It means a setup where only a few people hold almost all the power, everyone else is expected to serve, and the whole thing feels old-fashioned — like the old lord-and-land world in spirit. You hear it as criticism of a company, a school, a family, or a government: the top decide, the rest obey, and nobody is meant to question it. It is a bit formal and a bit sharp, more a writer's word than a playground word. People stretch it. Almost any stiff hierarchy can get called feudalistic, even when there is no land, no knights, and no king — only a boss, an elder, or a small circle who will not share power.
