Fatso is a rude name for someone who is fat. It is an insult. People say it to hurt, to tease, or to bully, and it is never polite. Though actually, some close friends use it as a joke among themselves, the way some rude names get turned into in-group teasing — but it still hurts if the other person is not in on the joke. Do not use it about a or a stranger.
