Fastidiousness is the noun: the quality of being very careful about small details — or of being hard to please about them. You can praise it: her fastidiousness saved the report from small errors. You can also sigh at it: his fastidiousness about the table setting drove everyone mad. It covers the same ground as fastidious, including that older flavour of a thin skin for mess or anything that feels “off.” In writing it is the name of the habit; in talk, people more often just call the person fastidious. Slightly formal. Still not about speed.
