組成From the sol-fa naming system used by Glover, going back to Middle English fa, the fourth step in Guido of Arezzo’s scale. Italian fa in that same system. Guido took the names from a Latin hymn, Ut queant laxis; fa is the first syllable of famulī (“servants”) in those lyrics, written by Paulus Deacon.
