Docility is the quality of being quiet, gentle, and easy to lead or control. We use it most often of animals: a dog or a horse with docility will follow you without a fight. You can also use it of people, though actually that use is a little loaded. If you praise someone’s docility, you may mean they are easy to work with and do not make a fuss. If you complain of it, you mean they give in too fast and do not push back. It is a formal, slightly old-fashioned noun; in everyday talk students are more likely to say someone is gentle, quiet, or easy to manage. The matching adjective is docile. It names a way of behaving, not a job or a place.
