Milder and more everyday than : a discontented employee is unhappy with the job, not . Often followed by with: discontented with the food, the pay, the plan. It can also be the -ed form of the verb discontent, but you will almost always meet it as this adjective. Formal enough for reports; still fine in careful speech.
