Dialectical means using that method of examining ideas, or belonging to it: you look at two opposing sides together in order to reach a fuller truth. “Dialectical thinking” does not pick one camp and stop. You will meet it in philosophy and political writing, especially in the set phrase dialectical materialism. It is a formal, academic adjective. Though actually, a nearby word, dialectal, means “of a dialect” (regional speech). The two are easy to mix and do not mean the same thing.
