Deportation is the official act of sending someone out of a country, back to the country they came from, usually because they do not have the legal right to stay. is the verb; deportation is the noun — the order, the process, the event. Governments order a deportation; people face deportation or fight a deportation in court. It is legal and news language, not a casual word, and it is not the same as asking someone to leave a room or them from a job. Though actually, people sometimes stretch it in a joke (“they me from the group chat”), but that is play, not the real use.
