Democratization is the process of changing how a country, a company, or another group is run, so that it becomes more democratic: more people get a real say, and less power sits with one person or a small circle. In a country, that may mean real elections, freer speech, and a parliament that can check the leader. People also use it about firms, parties, and schools — for example, letting workers help make the rules instead of only the boss. Though actually, the word is often used more neatly than life is. A leader may announce “democratization” after adding a meeting or a weak vote that does not change who decides. So the honest question is not the speech, but whether ordinary people gained real power.
