To decrypt a message or a computer file把一則訊息或一個電腦檔案decrypt(解密),is to take something that was turned into secret code就是把已經變成密碼的東西,and change it back into ordinary words, pictures, or numbers改回一般人——或一般的程式——能看懂的文字、圖片或數字。Someone encrypted it first一開始有人把它加密了:they hid it on purpose他們是故意把它藏起來的。Decrypting is the reverse of that解密就是反過來做這件事。
You usually need a key or a password; without the right one, the file stays a mess of letters and numbers. Computer people, phone apps, and spy stories use this word.

組成de- (undo, reverse) + -crypt, from Ancient Greek κρυπτός (kruptós, “hidden, secret”). The crypt piece here is that “hidden” meaning, the same piece you meet in encrypt — not the underground burial room, though that crypt is historically the same “hidden place” idea.
