Decor is the look of a room or the inside of a building: the colours, the furniture, the lights, the things on the walls, and the feeling they make together. When someone likes the decor, they like that whole look, not just one chair or one picture. You hear the word in magazines, on design shows, and in cafés, hotels, and shops talking about their style. It feels a little smart and magazine-like; in everyday talk many people just say how the room is done, or talk about the decoration. Though actually, decor is not quite the same as decoration. A decoration can be one balloon, one vase, one string of lights. Decor is the whole plan — how everything sits together. People stretch it too: wedding decor, office decor, bedroom decor. It is almost always about insides, not gardens and not the outside of a house. It is a noun, not a verb: you do not 'decor' a room; you decorate it, and then it has a decor.
