Decision-making is the work of making important choices, especially in a company, a school, or a government. It names the process, not the person. You will hear “decision-making process”, “decision-making power”, and “poor decision-making”. It is office and textbook English, , and a little stiff for talking about what to cook tonight — for that, people just say “deciding”. Though actually, a lot of “decision-making” in big organisations is slow, shared, and political; the tidy word hides how messy the real meetings can be.
decision-making 指做重要選擇的工作，多用在公司、學校或政府，講的是整個過程，不是指某個做決定的人。常見的搭配有決策過程「decision-making process」、決策權「decision-making power」，以及糟糕的決策「poor decision-making」。
這個詞偏辦公室和教科書用語，有點正式。要決定今晚吃什麼，一般只說決定就好。不過在大型組織裡，決策往往很慢，要大家一起討論，還夾雜著政治考量；這個詞看起來整齊，卻沒有講出會議實際上有多混亂。
