A decision-maker is a person in a company, a government, or another large group who has the power to make the important choices — who gets the money, what the rule will be, whether a plan goes ahead. Sales staff often say they need to reach “the decision-maker”, meaning the person who can actually say yes or no, not the person who only takes messages. It is workplace and news English, a little dry, usually written with a . You would not call a child choosing an ice cream a decision-maker in this sense. People also talk about “key decision-makers” when they mean the small group at the top.
decision-maker 指在公司、政府或大型團體裡，有權力做重要決定的人，例如誰拿到錢、規定要怎麼訂、計畫能不能進行。它是職場和新聞用語，語氣偏冷靜，通常寫成帶連字號的形式。
業務人員常說要找「the decision-maker」，指真正能說 yes 或 no 的人，而不是只負責轉達的人。如果講的是頂層的一小群人，就會說「key decision-makers」。
