Cyberia is a made-up name for the online world — the same idea as cyberspace. It is not a country on a map. The word was built from cyber- and shaped to sound like Siberia: a huge, far-away land that feels cold and a bit unknown. People used it more in the 1990s, when the internet still felt like a strange new country. You will not hear it much at work today; it is playful and a little old-fashioned. Though actually, some clubs, shops, and book titles still use Cyberia as a name, so you may see it on a sign and think it is a place. It is only a nickname for being on the internet.
