Cookware is the pots, pans, and similar containers you use to cook food — the things you put on the stove or in the oven with food in them. A frying pan, a , a dish: that is cookware. Knives and forks are not; the stove itself is not. is a bigger, looser word and can include tools and other kitchen things. Bakeware is the oven dishes; people mix the two, and some pans truly belong to both. Though actually, shops stretch cookware a little (a steamer, a , a lid set), but they still mean the vessels you cook in, not the whole kitchen.
