If something is continued, it keeps happening or keeps existing — it has not stopped. We also use it when the same thing happens again and again: continued complaints, continued success. You will see it a lot in news and school writing, usually before a noun: continued growth, continued support. On screens and in books, To be continued means the story is not finished yet; continued on page 4 means the rest is later. The same spelling is also the past of the verb continue (The talks continued into the night). All of these share one idea: it goes on.
