Contd. is a short written form of continued. You find it at the bottom of a page, under a heading, or on a form when the rest of the text lives somewhere else: 'contd. on p. 4.' Clerks, teachers, and magazine layouts use it to save space. You do not say 'contd.' as its own word; if you read it aloud, you say 'continued.' Though actually, English cannot even agree how to shorten it. Some pages write cont., some write contd., some write cont'd with a little mark. They all mean 'this goes on.' The extra d in contd. is a small kindness: it reminds you the full word is continued, not contents or continent. It belongs to paper, PDFs, and minutes of meetings, not to chat and not to speech.
