    The consignee is the person or company that the goods are delivered to — the name on the box, the one who is meant to receive them. In a consignment sale, the consignee is often the shop or agent who will sell the goods. It is a paper-and-warehouse word, used on shipping forms. Ordinary people say “the person it’s being sent to.” The ending -ee marks the person on the receiving end of the verb consign.
