Conclusively means “in a way that shows something is definitely true.” You most often meet it with prove, show, or demonstrate: the study conclusively proved that the medicine works — or that it does not. It is the adverb twin of , and it carries the same high bar: not a hint, a settling. Though actually, students sometimes use it as if it meant “finally” or “at last” — “we conclusively went home.” That is not how it works. Keep it for settling a question, not for finishing a day.
