寫給電腦看的記號
同一個動作,只是讀記號的是機器,而且機器照著做。
noun · A2
The work of writing the instructions that tell a computer what to do.
寫程式
One way to hold this word: two people agree that a mark will stand for something, and then they write the marks. Green means unleaded. A red wristband means allergy. A line of text means "put this picture on the screen". The agreement is the code; doing the writing is the coding. That is the whole word, and both meanings on this page are the same act done in different rooms.
From code + -ing: the -ing turns the noun code into the activity of applying it.
coding 就是 code 加上 -ing。code 本身指一套代表別的東西的記號,-ing 把它變成「做這件事」。所以字面上它一直是「把意思換成記號」這個動作,至於換成的是顏色、字母,還是程式指令,字本身不管。
