    A charmer is someone who uses charm — a warm smile, kind words, a way of making you feel special — to please people or to move them. It can be a compliment: this person is lovely to be with. Though actually, it can also be a warning. If someone says “he’s a real charmer” with a hard look, they mean he talks so he can win, sell, or flirt, and you should keep your eyes open. A snake charmer is a different picture altogether: a performer with snakes, not a flirt at a party.
