If a product is branded, a company people already know made it, and that company’s name is on it. You can look at the bag, the bottle, or the box and say whose it is. Shops and ads use this word a lot; it is ordinary English with a slightly business feel. Though actually, branded does not mean “expensive” or “luxury.” A cheap supermarket soap with the supermarket’s own name on it is still branded. The word only says: this thing carries a company’s mark. The opposite feeling is a product with no name you recognise.
