The belief itself — that the scientific study of the mind should rest only on what people do, not on what they say they think and feel — is called behaviourism. A behaviourist is a person who holds that belief, or a way of naming things from that school: behaviourist psychology, a behaviourist view. Skinner is the name most textbooks attach to the word. Same British our spelling; American writing uses behaviorist. Formal and academic, like the -ism word it sits beside. A teacher who gives stars for finished work is using a behaviourist tool, even if they never use the label. A behaviourist is not simply someone who behaves well.
