Wild land, often in the mountains, that lies away from roads, towns and buildings, so you have to walk, ride or ski in to reach it.
偏遠山野
Picture a map with all the lights on one side: towns, roads, petrol stations, houses. Now look at the space past the last of them. The land keeps going, but the road, the shops and the people thin out and stop. Back country can be thought of as that far side of the map, the part behind everything that has been built.
可以想成一張地圖，燈光全集中在一邊：城鎮、公路、加油站、房子。再看最後一盞燈之後的那片空白。土地還在往外延伸，可是路、商店和人愈來愈少，然後就沒了。back country 可以想成地圖上那一側——蓋好的東西後面的那一塊。
